I'M NEW?!   What can I expect?

When you show up at the corner of Locust and 3rd Streets in New Market, you can expect to see people dressed in shirts and ties, polo's and khaki's or people in jeans and a t-shirt. In other words, Come as You Are!  It doesn't matter what you wear on Sunday morning; what matters is that you are here!

When you come in the front doors, you will be greeted, and if you are new, please pick up a Welcome Packet.  You will find a little more information than you would in the bulletin.

Our service is blended, meaning we incorporate both hymns and contemporary music. We serve communion weekly and preach the Word of God boldly, walking away each Sunday with a challenge to incorporate it into our daily lives.  Our goal is to invite the Holy Spirit into the service so that you walk away knowing a true worship of God has taken place.  We want you to walk away on fire with the Holy Spirit, to carry that fire into the world to reach lost sinners and to disciple one another in love. In short, we exist to worship God, love one another and reach out to our neighbors!

We start Sunday School at 9 a.m. and Worship is at 10 a.m.  In addition, we have a Coffee & Donut Fellowship the first Sunday of each month.   We have a Children's program for Sunday School and a Junior Worship during the worship service, in addition to Nursery care.  Feel free to call the office for more details!

We Believe...

...that God created the heavens and earth and everything in it.  (Genesis 1)

...that our God is 1 God alone in 3 persons (the Trinity), God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit. (Mt. 28:18-20)

…that we were initially created to live in perfect harmony with the world until the fall of humanity.  (Genesis  3:1-13)

 …that we were cast out of the garden because of sin entering the world through the deception of Satan and our own doing and our existence would be harder because of our sin.  (Genesis 3:16-24)

 …that Christ is the cornerstone of our faith (Ephesians 2:20) which the Scriptures foretold that He would come and take away the sin of the world, so that all who believe would be saved and His kingdom would have no end.  (Isaiah 9:1-7, John 3:16-17).

 …that we are saved by grace (Ephesians 2:5), through faith alone (Ephesians 2:8), at our confession of Jesus as the Christ, repentance of our sin, and our resulting baptism (Acts 2:38-39), for good works (James 2:14-26).

 …that Christ died a sacrificial death (John 19:28-37), was buried (John 19:38-42), was resurrected (John 20:1-9), and ascended into heaven (Luke 24:50-53).

 …that it is our duty to obey The Great Commandment (Matthew 22:37-40) and we must undertake The Great Commission. (Matthew 28:18-20).

 …that all Christians are unified in Christ in which the Holy Spirit will come and dwell with each one of us. (Ephesians 2:19-22)

 …that all we have to do is believe, repent and be baptized in the Lord Jesus Christ and we will be saved because of our faith.  Works are simply the pulse of our relationship with Christ that he prepared for

 …that the Bible is Authoritative, Divinely inspired, living and active, Holy Word of God given by the Holy Spirit through human authors and that it is useful for training Christians.  (2 Timothy 3:16-17, Psalm 18:30, Proverbs 30:5, Hebrews 4:12)

 …that Christ will come back to judge the living and the dead.  (2 Timothy 4:1, Revelation 20:11-15)

 …that we will receive the gift of eternal life to bask in the glory of God.  (John 6:40, Revelation 21-22)

...that hell and heaven are real places where those who do not accept the Christ will be eternally punished and those who do accept the Christ will live forever in perfect communion with God.  (Matthew 13:42, 50; Luke 13:22-30; Revelation 20-22)
